Wilson Quits Hartlepool

Danny Wilson has become the latest managerial casualty, leaving Hartlepool after Saturday's draw with the Bulls.

The former Barnsley and Sheff Weds manager spent two and a half years at Victoria Park winning promotion from League Two in his first season, but only managed a mid-table finish last term. He had won only three League points from the last 18, but had guided the club to a Third Round FA Cup tie with Premier League side Stoke. He is the seventh League One manager to leave their club this season.

Director of Sport Chris Turner, who had nearly four years in charge of the club at the turn of the century, will take charge on a temporary basis.
