Anyone who follows Hereford United has had little cause to complain about the on the pitch performance of the team over the last five seasons.
Two seasons when the Bulls reached the Conference play-offs, then the season that ended with that victory over Halifax at the Walkers Stadium, a steady start to life in League Two with all those different grounds to visit and then, perhaps surprisingly, last season's third place finish in League Two and promotion to League One.
Tomorrow sees the start of life, this time around, in Division One, the third tier of English football.
Similar to two seasons ago when the Bulls looked forward to their first season back in the League, supporters will look at the fixture list and marvel that 'little' Hereford will be playing at venues such as Leeds, Leicester and Crewe for example.
How well will Hereford United manage at this higher level? In truth, many will probably be content with a season of consolidation. A finish for the Bulls in mid-table would be deemed as very exceptable, and probably realistic, by many.
But it should be remembered that Graham Turner has managed at this level, and above, during his managerial career. He, more than anyone, will know what to expect and how to cope with the extra demands of competing at a higher level.
And although, as he has admitted, the squad isn't quite complete, he has already brought in a number of players with either youth or experience. A few more signings or long term loans may soon be announced.
Later today, Hereford United will set out for Leyton Orient. Tomorrow at 3pm the season will start. By 4.50 or thereabouts the first result of the season will be known.
Two years ago Hereford's first match back in League Two was at Stockport. The Bulls won that game 2-0. The bookies predicted a Hatters win - they were wrong.
This morning the bookies are predicting an Orient win - they might get this one wrong as well.
A good following of Hereford United fans will be at the Matchroom Stadium to find out. Others, closer to Herefordshire, can follow the whole game live on BBC Hereford and Worcester's 94.7FM frequency or text coverage on the Official Website.
Whatever the result let's hope this will be another season to enjoy for all those involved with Hereford United whether they be staff, players or supporters.
