News Round Up

Notts County have released eight after an uninspiring season. Heading the list is veteran Jason Lee, while only three out of contract player are being offered new deals. Ten players remain under contract, with Derby defender Michael Johnson joining in July. Peterboro will release striker Danny Crow, while defender Claude Gnapka will leave after failing to agree a new deal.

Grimsby expect to lose striker Gary Jones in the summer as the out of contract veteran looks to play close to his Wirral home. Accrington's players received their pay six days late after what was claimed to be an administrative mix-up. The club have denied problems with their finances. Barnet winger Albert Adomah is now being touted as being worth £1million, just four months after joining the club on a free transfer. Wolves and Sunderland are claimed to be heading the chase.

AFC Liverpool will begin life in the North West Counties League, where FC United of Manchester began. They hope for 2,000 gates with fans paying no more than £5 for entry, but are yet to confirm a home venue. Stockport are set to receive £350,000 for defender Ashley Williams from Swansea.

Rotherham hope to confirm new ownership tomorrow, with incoming owner Tony Stewart still locked in talks with Millmoor's owners. Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium, the athletics ground, is Plan B if talks fail.
