Those clever people from the League Two Forum have produced several tables of attendance stats for the season just ended.
As regards gates, Hereford came 15th in the League with an average 3421. Top was 6020 for the last game of the season against Grimsby and bottom just 2271 when Barnet were the visitors. Top in the League was Bradford with an average of 13785.
The stats show that support for visiting teams at Edgar Street was the lowest in the League.
Just 336 went into the away end. The top was 1177 from Peterborough. The lowest just 52 from Accrington Stanley. Top was at MK Dons where an average of 744 went into the away end of their new stadium.
Looking at home support only Hereford came 15th with average support of 3086. Top, again for the Grimsby game, was 5800. Lowest was 2143. Top was Bradford with 13287.
Hereford's average away support was 445. Some 1655 travelled to Shrewsbury. Against that only 138 went to the Grimsby match.
An interesting stat is the percentage of home fans that travel to away games. Hereford came 10th in this table with an average 14.42%. Perhaps surprisingly Mansfield head this table, over a quarter of their home support travel to away games.
The figures reinforce the need to attract more support to Edgar Street if Hereford United is going to compete in League One.
