Graham Turner has told the official site that he 'needs' Toumani Diagouraga to sign for the Bulls.
In a brief statement he said: "He's indicated that he's positive about this club, and I've spoken to his agent. Again it's one of those drawn out things that could go on for several weeks.
"Toumani was a good player for us last season and we need him signed up and done if we possibly can, so that's the aim at the moment."
Meanwhile, Watford have parted company with former Bulls coach Dick Bate as a cost-cutting measure. Bate spent two years at Vicarage Road after a brief spell as the technical director for Canada. He was a coach at Edgar Street initially for John Layton then Turner before leaving for a post with the FA.
