Yesterday an Isreal website took up the Hereford United promotion to League One and even suggested that what Graham Turner had achieved at 'Hereford United under extreme financial pressure both personally and professionally has to be one the most impressive success stories in English football history.'
This morning a New Zealand commentator has also noted the progress of the Bulls. This from the Manawatu Standard.
No one but me probably cares that Hereford United has been promoted.
These days English soccer interest revolves around the premier league and every second Kiwi supports Arsenal. It's too easy to back the rich mobs; no one bothers reading out the soccer scores on Sunday morning radio anymore.
I found something appealing about a club with a woolly-headed bull logo.
In the 1970s Hereford United shot up from non-league play to the second division, plunged to the fourth division and sat there for 19 years before disappearing from the Football League.
The Bulls returned last year and now have sped into the old third division. Someone else might be interested.
