For the first time for ages, Hereford United are to take part in a summer tournament. The venue is North Devon and the games will take place between July 22nd and July 27th.
The eight-team knock-out tournament will feature a number of England's top professional and semi-professional teams, with three games at Appledore and six games at Bideford.
The clubs taking part are Crystal Palace, League Two sides Grimsby Town and current promotion contenders Hereford United, Conference sides Torquay United and Kidderminster Harriers, Conference South side Eastleigh, and British Gas Southern League club Clevedon Town. They will be joined by Bideford.
The action starts on Tuesday, July 22 with a game between hosts Bideford and Torquay United.
"We've been down and had a look at the facilities and they look fantastic. The organisers have obviously put a lot of thought into it and we're really looking forward to being involved. It will represent a major part of our pre-season training," said Torquay manager Paul Buckle.
The order of play will be decided at Bideford on May 25th.
According to the Devon Press Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has already signalled his intention to bring down almost his entire first team squad following the cancellation of his side's American pre-season tour.
