Post Posh Reaction From Turner

Hereford United manager Graham Turner spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester after his side's 1-0 defeat by Peterborough United.

"Congratulations to Peterborough, they've had a good season. But I don't think we deserved to lose the game. We had a lapse of concentration for their goal.

"There was not a lot in the first half but we knew the lad run forward who scored and we had got somebody earmarked to deal with it and they just didn't do their jobs. A split second and it puts us under pressure. Changes the course of the game.

"But second half we've had a go. We've had one or two opportunities and it's one of those situations now where we've got to believe we can win the last three matches.

"I think it is still in our hands from what I gather and if we do that we still go up automatically. So it's still in our hands as much as the disappointment is now - we talked about nothing but being positive in the dressing room.

"We gave it a good go, we showed a bit of spirit. Bit short on one or two things but we've got to pick ourselves up now and beat Wrexham on Tuesday.

"The only thing that counts is points. We've worked hard over the eight days and I felt we should have had a better points return. But it isn't. It's just four points from it and we've got to start again on Tuesday."

Reminded by Keith Hall that Posh have a million pound side Turner continued:

"You don't think about that when you are playing. It's two sides matched up together and I felt we did reasonably well to a point. We should have done better. And that's the disappointment.

"What they have spent on players is secondary. We obviously felt that we had enough experience, enough know-how and enough ability out there to get a result.

"We still believe we've got enough to get promoted automatically so it's a testing time. A testing time for players now, there is a disappointment there almost as if we had been relegated. We've got three days to pick ourselves up and be ready for Wrexham on Tuesday."
