Darlington may risk striker Pawel Abbott against the Bulls next Saturday.
Dave Penney, speaking after yesterday's game, told reporters: "We would love to have Pav back in the side, but we will be careful with him. We saw with Richie Foran that if you have to take extra care with hamstrings or you can have setbacks that keep players out for even longer.
"Pav has said he has pencilled in playing against Hereford next Saturday, but we will see. We do not want him breaking down again. He offers us that bit extra in attack, but we have other players who can do a job."
Former Bradford man Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, who scored twice for the Bantams at Edgar Street in September, may be pressed back into action early as well but neither him, Abbott, or Tommy Wright will be fully fit for the game.
Meanwhile, Stockport boss Jim Gannon has complained over the state of their pitch. It put paid to Julian Joachim's game yesterday and saw Hatters midfielder Dominic Blizzard pick up an injury turning an anke on the pitch that is also used for rugby:
"I'm disappointed for the players and the fans because we're trying to play but the pitch is killing us. And more worryingly we're seeing players getting injured on the pitch. Julian Joachim went over on his ankle and Dom did. They were innocuous little things but it's because the surface is so uneven because of the damage that’s being done from all the training that Sale Sharks have done on the pitch."
