Chester have suspended two more players, and reported Scottish side Inverness to the FA over an illegal approach.
Veteran pair Paul Butler, also the club's assistant manager, and Tony Dinning have been suspended for a "serious breach of club discipline". The exact reasons for their suspension are unclear, but it is believed to be linked to the complaint about Inverness.
Both players are out of contract in the summer and are unlikely to play again for the club, but neither are believed to be either of the two players that Inverness are alleged to have approached illegally though at least one of the pair is believed to be involved in the approach, with Butler seen in the stands talking to Inverness boss Craig Brewster during Saturday's match with Lincoln.
The club already have Simon Marples "on gardening leave" after an earlier incident.
