This afternoon's game at Edgar Street could make or break Hereford United's automatic promotion challenge. A win for the Bulls will keep them in third place in League Two and if MK Dons can defeat Stockport there will be a gap of four points between the Bulls and the Hatters.
It won't be easy.
Although Peterborough's form of late has been similar to Hereford's, nine points in their last six games, the chief difference between the clubs is the number of goals scored - 79 by Posh and 65 by the Bulls.
Both defences have let 40 goals past them.
Some 27 of those Posh goals have been scored by Aaron Mclean who is currently the top scorer in League Two. He will need to be watched.
Mclean's other record this season is also worth mentioning. He's been credited with 73 fouls to date. No Hereford player comes anywhere near that total.
There's little doubt it will be a very competitive match and the Bulls will need all the backing the Meadow End and the rest of the Hereford United support can muster. That backing must start before the kick-off and, even if not everything goes according to plan, must continue to the end.
The away support both at Darlington and MK Dons earlier this week was excellent. The home support sometimes lets the Bulls down. It mustn't this afternoon.
Although it will be a cold and windy afternoon the atmosphere inside Edgar Street should be warm.
The game is NOT all ticket although some areas of the ground are said to be close to selling out.
