Simpson Set For Shrews

Paul Simpson is expected to be named as Shrewsbury boss today at a noon press conference.

The former Carlisle and Preston boss watched their draw with Darlington last night from the stands. He has been out of football for four months since being sacked by Preston. He started his managerial career at Rochdale before moving to Carlisle where he took them to successive promotions, but only before they lost their League status in his first year.

Update: Simpson has signed a three year deal at the club.
