An enjoyable day at Accrington

You never know what to expect at Accrington. Today was the first time ever the Bulls have taken three points from there. One of the goals was the most comical seen this season. And the banter from one particular Accy supporter had those around him in fits of laughter for most of the game especially when he started calling Wayne Brown, the Hereford keeper, Mr Blobby.

Accrington have improved their stadium since the Bulls were last there by covering the 'home end'. They still sell food at a reasonable price but their pitch looks as bad as ever with a big muddy strip along much of the centre. In fact how Hereford managed to play some quite nice football on occasions was probably more by luck than judgement.

And of course there is John Coleman, their long serving manager. How he didn't have a heart attack is surprising given the way he reacted to the own goal. It looked as though he was going to be sent to the stands after going on about it for what seemed to be several minutes. From his position it's unlikely he could tell whether the ball was over the line or not. The linesman who gave the goal was a lot closer.

Meanwhile it looks as though Sherjill MacDonald has played his last game for Hereford.

When he was subbed late in the game he turned and applauded the travelling fans and as he reached the dug-out shook hands with both Graham Turner and John Trewick.

Finally former Bull David Brown who is on loan from Accrington to Rushden and Diamonds was at the game and talked to a few Hereford United supporters.
