Rochdales' manager Keith Hill admitted he didn't see last nights 4-2 defeat coming.
"We got caught in the headlights. We started superbly but you have to give credit to Hereford because they came and counter attacked us for fun. They fed off our mistakes and we going through a patch where individual errors are certainly costing us," Hill told reporters.
"Those errors then force us to chase the game when we shouldn't be doing and Hereford are a very good side at picking you off.
"We set ourselves up to try and score in the 2nd half with the substitutions that we made but that made us very vulnerable at the back. I would rather burn out than fade away."
