Vaughan Returns Toys To Pram

Chester owner Stephen Vaughan has ripped down the crisis signs at the Deva Stadium - telling people he is not interested in selling the club despite a dramatic walk-out less than a month ago.

Vaughan has told their official website that the club was never up for sale despite holding talks with three parties: "My heart is still with Chester City and I will continue to finance the club and give it commitment, but I have never said that I want to sell Chester City Football Club and this is still the case. However, there is still speculation that I am looking to sell and that is disappointing.

"It is true that I have received three offers for the club, the first one offered me £10 plus 10% of the monies I had put in, which by any standards is unacceptable - that of course assumes the club was for sale!

"The second offer came from a sports management company, and that is being responded to by a director of Chester City who handles my legal affairs. The third bid, quite frankly was derisory, and isn't worth discussing publicly."

Former Director Paul Baker is one of those to have his bid rejected while the second rejected bid is believed to be from ISM, who were unable to prove finances. The third bid is from Liverpool based Sports Management firm Sport 6.
