Reaction from Edgar Street

Reaction from Edgar Street this evening.

Firstly the victorious manager Graham Turner talking on BBC Five Live.

"We ridden our luck once or twice today but we've dug in and shown a lot of resilience and in the end we've scored an outstanding goal.

"We sent home a lot of people home from Hereford very happy."

Talking about Johnson's goal Turner continued:

"It wasn't quite of Ronnie Radford proportions but none the less it was a well worked goal. He came inside and took the ball well and it was a terrific strike.

"We probably had a bit of luck at the other end once or twice. On one or two occasions we had to defend with some resilience.

"It's been another great night. Sometimes in the FA Cup you need a little bit of luck, you need the ball to run for you and maybe we've had that tonight."

Turner was reminded it's Cardiff next.

"We've played Leeds and played well against them here. Missed the opportunity to beat them and everybody thought it was over going to Elland Road. They were obviously big favourites. We actually played very well at Elland Road and deserved the win.

"Now we're looking forward to Cardiff. They are a big club and currently going very well in the Championship. We've got the connection with Paul Parry who left us to join Cardiff and done very well with his career since.

"It's a game our supporters will realish. It's a game we can look forward to."

Secondly Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore from his Official Website:

"We lost the game because we couldn't score. How many chances did we have? We pulverized them. We had all the chances, hit the bar twice and had two gilt edged chances. If we score one we score three. I can't moan about how we played, because we bossed them.

"I'd hold my hand up if I thought they should have won but there's no way in the world they should have. But how many times have we said that this season? We need to be ruthless in the box. We had opportunities and haven't taken them and how many times do we get done with the sucker punch? The lad who scored is right footed, we got him on his left foot but we let him back on his left and he punished us.

"We had a great following tonight and we gave them everything they wanted except what they deserved. They've had the day off work, come all the way down here and we gave them everything bar the goal."
