The official Carshalton Athletic website is reporting that the Bulls are set to sign winger Jack MacLeod to a professional contract.
An article, dated Sunday 13th January, reads: "Following discussions last night, Jack will travel to Hereford United on Friday to sign a professional contract. Needless to say, as a Club we are very disappointed to lose a player of Jack's promise. However, it is not in our interests to stand in the way of the player's progress and we wish him every success in his career as a professional footballer."
It is understood that MacLeod is not under contract to Carshalton, and no transfer fee will be paid - a matter that leaves them a little bitter: "As disappointing as it is, Hereford United did not even offer Carshalton Athletic a pre-season friendly as a good will gesture. Regretfully, as a Club there is absolutely nothing we can do."
MacLeod is a former Millwall and Crawley player, who scored 10 times in 39 appearances for Carshalton in ten months. He made eleven Conference appearances for Crawley, but failed to appear for Millwall.
