Bury have sacked the management duo of Chris Casper and Keith Alexander with immediate effect.
The club have earned only one point from the last 24, with a club statement reading: "Unfortunately the management team of Chris Casper and Keith Alexander has lost the confidence of a large majority of the fans, and the directors have taken this decision for the benefit of Bury FC."
Casper's job was under threat at the end of last season after a second successive struggle to stay in the Football League. Alexander was brought in as Director of Football, with most speculating that he would replace Casper if the season started badly.
Casper is the fifth League Two manager to get the chop this season. All of them were in the bottom six at the time.
