With a tough looking League game against Hereford United on Friday, Chester manager Bobby Williamson has said that the League is more important than success in the Trophy.
Chester face a difficult tie at Carlisle this evening.
"I think you've got to respect the sponsors who have put money into tonight's competition because I don't think they get the recognition they really deserve," Williamson told the Chester Evening Leader.
"I'm going to have a look at my squad today and see how fit they are for tonight's match, because we've got a big home game against Hereford United on Friday night.
"I'm not being disrespectful, but the league is more important to us than tonight's trophy match. The league games are our bread and butter and we want to do well.
"I think we can give anyone a game to be honest. But I think tonight will prove a difficult match because Carlisle had a decent result at the weekend.
"We all know what Carlisle's capabilities are, so we've got to go out there and get a result because our fans will be travelling up there in good numbers."
