Rushden manager Garry Hill has received a ten match touchline ban, and been suspended as manager of the club for two weeks by the FA.
The FA found Hill guilty of assaulting Salisbury assistant boss Tommy Widdrington. Hill will not be able to act as manager of Rushden for two weeks starting next Wednesday, and will serve a five match touchline ban immediately after with the other five games suspended for a year. He has also been fined £500 by the FA, following a fine of two weeks wages by the club.
Hill told the official Rushden site: "It has been a very difficult time for me personally and despite repeated and insistent demands from the Press, I have been unable to make any personal comment on the incident. Now that the hearing has taken place I wish to place on record my sincere apologies to the Club and fans of Rushden & Diamonds for the distress that this has caused."
Both Rushden and Salisbury were also charged over the game, which saw two sent off and a 21 man brawl. Salisbury have denied the charge. A Police investigation is believed to have been dropped.
