Former Leeds midfielder/forward Simon Johnson has been confirmed as a triallist at Edgar Street.
West Bromich born Johnson, 24, spent three years as a pro at Leeds - mainly gaining experience in five seperate loan spells throughout the divisions. He managed a small number of Premiership appearances at Elland Road, and was the reserves top scorer in the 03/04 season, before his 2005 release brought a move to Darlington.
He scored nine times for the club in two years, barely making an appearance in the second half of last season as new manager Dave Penney moulded his own side. He recently had a trail at Bradford, with Bantams boss Stuart McCall telling the local press: "He is different to what we've got, he can get down the sides of people."
