Bath City to help Gloucester

Bath City, who play Hereford United this evening at the Twerton Stadium, have agreed with flood-stricken Gloucester City to move the friendly between the two clubs due to take place on Friday to Twerton Park as the Gloucester ground is under 8 feet of water. The Meadow Park has been flooded twice before since it was set up seventeen years ago.

In a suberb gesture Bath have said that they will give all the gate receipts less expenses to Gloucester to help them recover from the flood problems.

Perhaps Hereford United could arrange a friendly with Gloucester and help them out as well. It would be very good PR for the Bulls.

Meanwhile Bath City are expected to have former Cardiff City striker Kyle Bassett in their squad this evening along with several other trialists.

"At the moment we're just giving everyone a game. We're not half way through our pre-season, we're trying to make our mind up about some of the squad members. Then next week the team will be closer to our starting XI," said assistant manager Adie Britton.

Bath may take some interest in Hereford's Marcus Palmer who was to go on-loan to Bath towards the end of last season.

New signing Clint Easton is expected to be in the Hereford party travelling to Bath along with several trialists including, it is believed, two players not seen at Pegasus last Wednesday.
