Mills sets target

Lee Mills, the much travelled centre-forward now with Hereford United, has already scored five goals for his new club but insists he can score more.

"I've probably had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. And at all my previous clubs, I've always aimed at scoring one goal in every two games. I've set myself the same target here but it could be difficult this season because I know I'm not going to be playing every game," Mills told the Evening News.

"The club has a few good strikers and Adam (Stansfield) and David (Brown) started the season up front with me on the bench. I've started four or five times and I've been happy with my return in that respect. I'm aiming to get a long run in the team and determined to repay the manager's faith in bringing me here.

"The lads have been doing well and we were unbeaten in the last six games up to Dagenham. That was our fourth game in 12 days and we had extra time against Scunthorpe in the LDV Trophy. I did think the lads were a little bit tired towards the end of the game. Dagenham were up for it given the club's result against Hereford last season.

"We will be there or thereabouts in the top five come the end of the season, which will give us a guaranteed playoff spot. Then anything can happen, I never predicted Shrewsbury to have gone up from last year's playoffs."
