Marketing man exits Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury Town Football Club can not afford to continue employing marketing manager Mark Peters. Mr Peters is leaving the club at the end of the month.
Only last February the club created the position of marketing manager. At the time they said that his role would involve him being responsible for generating additional revenue for Shrewsbury Town through non football activities and trying to attract bigger crowds to home matches.
Club bosses told the Shropshire Star that they had been hit by a capping system which was introduced into the Football League last season and had to focus their attention on ensuring Shrewsbury Town stayed in Coca Cola League Two.
Mr Peters today said he was disappointed at the news, but understood the board's decision.
Shrewsbury are 23rd in their league with only Kiddermister below them.
