Dazzo retains title
Dazzo Williams retained his British featherweight title tonight at the Hereford Leisure centre when he outpointed Roy Rutherford by 117 to 112 in a very physical contest.
Sky descibed it as "the fight of the year."
Williams' support at the event was tremendous with both players and supporters of Hereford United in the crowd including Bulls captain Tony James.
The Sky reporter commented that it was the first time ever a title fight had taken place in Hereford and " they've come out in their droves. A fabulous atmosphere, over 1200 seats sold and Dazzo has sold most of them."
Before the fight Williams was shown talking from Edgar Street. As is usual pictures from that FA Cup game of some years ago were shown with Ronnie Radford's goal.
It is hoped that Williams will be able to stage his next fight in Hereford possibly against Nicky Cooke.
