Expansion mooted for internation competition

The Four Nations International Tournament, won yesterday by England, could be expanded.

Winning coach Paul Fairclough told the Non-League Paper that he reckoned the tournament, branded a financial success by the FAW, would be strengthened if the likes of Holland, Belgium, Italy and France joined England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales in next year's competition, rumoured to be held by Scotland.

"We have to look to an international tournament over the next couple of seasons and we already hjave interested parties," said Fairclough. "Italy, Holland and Belgium would all like to enter a European Tournament and we now have to work with the Conference to make sure it happens."
