Bulls fight back to take a point
Hereford United found themselves 2 - 0 down at half time against Farnborough Town tonight. FA Cup star Rocky Baptiste scored after 18 mintues and Gary Patterson doubled the advantage on 32.

In the second half the Bulls pulled one back through Jamie Pitman who rifled a long range shot into the back of the net. Danny Williams completed the come back on 82 minutes. He hit a long range shot that found the top corner of the net.
Bulls charge back in second half
Farnborough Town 2 - 2 Hereford United
Farnborough Town's week of turmoil has seen their manager/owner Graham Westley join Stevenage Borough, six players leave the club and the team progress in the FA Trophy against Telford United. It, therefore, came as no surprise that they had a point to prove against Hereford United this evening and got exactly that, as the spoils were shared.

The Boro dominated the first half in which the Hereford back line, with Ian Wright in for the suspended Andy Tretton, were hard pressed to cope with the attacking pace of Ken Charlery, Rocky Baptisle and Joff Vansittart. Early on, events were pretty even with John Grant forcing ex-Hereford stopper Tony Pennock into a superb save from a thirty yard shot after six minutes, and at the other end, Baptiste threaded the ball through to Tony Taggart, who fired wide from inside the area.

However, Farnborough took the lead on sixteen minutes. A cross from Chris Piper on the right found Baptiste, who shot firstly against the post. When the ball rebounded, he made no mistake on the second occasion, firing into the net.

As the half progressed, Tony James picked up a knock when he got a kick on the shin, and struggled to continue before eventually being removed at half time. Matt Baker continued to be called into action when Chris Piper's close range shot was saved with his legs and, at the other end, both Jamie Pitman and Steve Guinan tried their luck from range.

Just after the half hour, though, a Farnborough corner from the right found Gary Patterson three yards out. His well placed header took a deflection on the way through to double the home side's advantage. Lenny Piper could have made it three before the break, but his shot when one-on-one with Baker was saved by the goalkeeper's legs.

Hereford came out the brighter side after the break and completely dominated the second period. Steve Guinan struck the ball inches over the crossbar after a volley from twenty yards out before Jamie Pitman broke free thirty yards from goal. He cut into the box, before hitting a left footed strike into the back off the net off Pennock's upright.

From then on, both sides searched for the next goal but it was Hereford who got it. A Michael Rose cross nine minutes from time saw Ian Wright nod the ball goalwards. It was scrambled off the line, but fell to Danny Williams on the edge of the box. He fired the ball past the confused Farnborough backline to level the scores.

In added time, Williams hit the post with a free-kick from just outside the box but Hereford will be pleased with a point, especially considering the half-time scoreline.
