Market move could stall development
The redevelopment of the Edgar Street area could further be stalled if a new site is not found, report the Hereford Times.
Now Councillor Dick Makin has told the council that they should consult the farmers who use the facilities over the move, because a proposed site at Burghill has poor road access.
Furthermore, it has been suggested that there are enough markets in the area - at Leominster, Ludlow, Kington, Knighton and Ross-on-Wye - to consider not building a new one in Hereford.
Council leader Terry James said that a new site would not be identified in the next draft of the UDP, but decided next year.
The market move is just one of a number of stumbling blocks that are making the redevelopment of Hereford United's Edgar Street ground drag on.
