Richardson Complains About Olyroos
While Trent McClenahan did play some part in the latest Olyroos matches, Chesterfield captain Aaron Downes travelled but did not feature at all - incurring the wrath of manager Lee Richardson.
Richardson told the official Chesterfield site: "It can't be right that a player travels all the way to Australia for a couple of Internationals and takes no part at all. I feel there has been a lack of respect of the club's needs by the Australian Football Federation.
"If they weren't going to select him for any of the games then he should have been released, especially after the first game, to travel back to the UK to prepare for our important game against Mansfield this weekend.
"I will be contacting the Australian Football Federation to express my displeasure and will be looking for a proper explanation."

Chesterfield will, like the Bulls with Trent McClenahan, lose defender Aaron Downes until September if he is chosen for the Olyroos' Olympic bid in Bejing. Manager Lee Richardson told the local press: "It's between him and another player for the Olympics, and it would create a problem for us. It's a learning curve for me regarding Australian and international players, because it is clearly a disadvantage. It's no use to us at all but I'm sure for him, his career and Australia it's fine. It would be a problem for us as we will be without a player until September, if he is selected."

First half goals from Tom Pugh and Yusifu Ceesay gave the Bulls a two-goal advantage going into the break, and they were unlucky not to be further ahead.
But at half time, a number of the 267 away fans booed and chanted "what a load of rubbish".
At the final whistle, fans were equally frustrated as they vented at the staff and players who had gone over to the Len Weston terrace.
Assistant manager Aaron Downes was trying to talk to the angry fans, but manager Gary Johnson was nowhere to be seen.
Despite sitting eighth in National League South, the former Football League side, who have had 68-year-old Johnson at the helm since 2018, rarely threatened.
