Match Report: Hereford Women v Droitwich

Hereford started brightly and kept Droitwich pinned in their own half for large periods, this early pressure told when on 6 minutes, Sheree Smith bundled in a cross ball from the right wing.

Eight minutes later Hereford doubled their lead with a composed side footed finish from captain Matilda Harris, playing in midfield.

Just after the half hour mark the referee waved away two stonewall penalty shouts as Hereford continue to apply all the pressure.

The sucker punch came just minutes from the end of the first half when Droitwich pulled one back against the run of play.

The second half saw a much more lively Droitwich punish Hereford on 55 minutes when Darcy Smith appeared to be in control of the ball played it across her box allowing the Droitwich striker an easy finish.

Three minutes later Droitwich took the lead, a defensive error again allowed for an easy finish.

On 68 minutes a wonderful strike from the far right wing beat Hannah Pritchard to make it 2-4.

With just minutes left Pritchard left a ball that looked as if was going wide sneak in at the far post to make it 2-5.

FT Hereford 2-5 Droitwich

To summarise, a good first half with promising chances created throughout, only the referee keeping the tally down. A second half of defensive errors, missed passes and lack of an offside trap cost Hereford dearly.

A mention must go to Kiera Brain, the midfielder joined Hereford from Ross Juniors earlier in the week, she put in a solid performance.
