Pressure grows on Caddis as Hereford lose to Southport

Hereford have fallen to a 2-1 defeat against struggling Southport as pressure grows on Hereford boss Paul Caddis.

Now six games without a win, Southport had a 2-0 lead by half time as Danny Lloyd's inswinging corner from the left sailed straight into the back of the net in the 29th minute, sort the visitors reduced to 10 men seven minutes later. After a push on Lewis Hudson as he ran to take a quick throw-in, Callum Edwards picked up his second yellow.

Then, in the first minute of first half stoppage time, Jordan Slew got the better of Aaron Skinner and slotted low past Theo Richardson.

Into the second half, Hereford faced an uphill battle as Southport defended heavily, with their 10 men often all behind the ball.

A consolation goal did come as Harley Hamilton's shot from a corner deflected into the back of the net, but Hereford didn't test the keeper enough throughout the afternoon.

While chairman Chris Ammonds said this week Caddis deserves more time, pressure is growing on the Hereford boss to turn the club's fortunes around.
