Hereford's Edgar Street Stadium has been used as part of a workshop showcasing how to look after pitches.

The Herefordshire FA ran a Grounds Management Association Workshop at a sodden Edgar Street on Tuesday evening.

But despite the rain, "great numbers" attended, the Herefordshire FA said, with the purpose of the evening to help grassroots clubs understand what maintenance on a pitch can do for their grass pitches in all types of weather

It also looked at general good practice on how to keep playing surfaces up to a good standard, as well as funding available.

As well as Hereford's groundsman Ben Bowen showcasing Slitter and Quadraply machinery, the agenda also included Malvern-based Fleet Line Markers, Julian Morris on coping with rain, and Tallis Amos and verti-draining

"Big thank you to Ben Bowen who sponsored the evening," the HFA said.

"Also big thank you to Fleet Line Markers, Tallis Amos Group and Dlf Seeds who presented and talked about their products.

"We look forward to the next one."
