Michael Parker, left, could be returning to Edgar Street |
Hereford fans could soon see the return of defender Michael Parker after his eye-catching loan spell at Edgar Street.
Boss Paul Caddis is hopeful of striking another deal with parent club West Bromwich Albion, with talks set to take place today (Wednesday). The 21-year-old featured in a 45-minute run-out for the Baggies on Tuesday night, having missed the final two games of his Hereford stay through injury. The game was against Danish visitors FC Nordsjaelland in the Premier League International Cup but West Brom lost 3-0.
Parker made a big impression during his month with the Bulls, with Caddis hailing his spell as excellent. Albion are also said to have been pleased with how the youngster was handled during his time away, and with the defender now seemingly through the worst of his injury, he could be heading out on loan again.
The London-born player had spells at Huddersfield and Burnley before joining the West Midlands club, becoming a regular in the PL2 side. Last season, he racked up close to 25 appearances, scoring once and providing three assists.
Caddis hopes Parker’s loan can now be revived, boosting Hereford’s defensive options. The Bulls have only kept one clean sheet - and that was against an Alfreton side who never looked like scoring.
