Hereford through to FA Cup third qualifying round after late drama at Sporting Khalsa

Hereford have managed to get through the FA Cup second qualifying round against Sporting Khalsa - but extra time was needed to decide a winner.

In the first half, both sides had their fair share of chances, including a looping Andy Williams volley for Hereford just 18 seconds into the game.

Stanley Asomugha went close for the hosts, being denied by the woodwork after being set up by former Bull Chay Tilt, moments before Andre Landell fired wide.

Williams then had another two chances go wide to put Hereford ahead, but Sporting Khalsa nearly punished Hereford for a defensive error but Tilt's shot also went wide.

After the break, both sides netted twice forcing the game into extra time.

Sporting Khalsa beat the deadlock in the 77th minute, with Landell's first shot from a free kick parried by Theo Richardson, he made no mistake in forcing home the rebound.

Hereford pulled themselves back level five minutes later as Sam Osborne beat Ravan Constable, but Sporting Khalsa hit back in the 85th minute as Bradley Burgess took advantage of a defensive error.

Looking to be heading out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle, Hereford took the game to extra time with Remaye Cambell netting two minutes into injury time.

With an extra 30 minutes to play to avoid penalties, Eno Nto managed to stab the ball home in a goalmouth scramble three minutes into the second half of extra time.

While not making life easy for themselves, Hereford are through to the third qualifying round.

They travel to Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday.
