Two players have left Edgar Street after boss Paul Caddis promised to ship players out to free up money.
That, he said, would allow him to bring in new players to bolster his squad after four losses in their opening five matches of the season.
On Tuesday, the club announced Chris Wreh and Kai Williams had left.
In a one-line comment, Caddis said: “I’d like to thank both players for their efforts in the short time they spent with us, and I wish both Chris and Kai the best for the future.”
With both players struggling with their fitness, Caddis - while not naming names - said after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Radcliffe that he cannot afford to carry players who pick up knocks regularly.
"I'll move a few out," he said, adding: "I've made my mind up, absolutely.
"It's not a knee-jerk reaction because we lost today, but it was something that's been building up. I don't think we've quite got the reaction from players that we were hoping for.
"There's a lot of players that have been picking up little niggling injuries and, to be brutally honest, we can't carry players like that. We can't carry players that are just going to pick up little injuries here and there."
Chris Wreh
Last season Wreh played for Tamworth, then a short loan spell with Scunthorpe, before moving to Maidenhead.
Now aged 29, Wreh was born in New York. He is a son of former Arsenal striker Christopher Wreh.
He started his career in England with the Northampton Town Youth set-up before leaving to join Stony Stratford Town in 2014.
Various clubs followed but it was at Banbury he started to score goals, 21 in 40 appearances.
In the summer of 2022 he moved to Southend. Then to Hartlepool from where he was loaned out to Tamworth.
In summer 2025 he joined Tamworth but after an incident in January he was sent on loan to Scunthorpe. A month later he joined Maidenhead. He was released after they were relegated in April.
When he announced the signing in July, Caddis said he was really pleased to add Wreh to his side.
"He played a vital part in helping Tamworth win the National League North a few seasons ago and followed them into the National League, where he made plenty of appearances in that division.
"Chris has shown a desire to come to a football club with a brilliant fan base and not take the highest financial offer, as well as expressing his desire to work with the management staff, having heard good things about the way I manage my players, so that’s also really pleasing."
