Caddis tells of calm belief in himself after critics slammed Bulls’ poor start to season

Paul Caddis is full of self belief despite fierce criticism in the wake of the 2-0 loss over King's Lynn

Paul Caddis has said people don't realise how tough being a manager is after some heavy criticism in the wake of Saturday's defeat at home to King's Lynn Town.

But despite the two 2-0 losses at the start of the season to Spennymoor and King's Lynn, Hereford bounced back with a 2-1 win at Buxton on Tuesday evening.

After the game, it was put to Caddis that he faced "a little bit of flak over the weekend", and "gave it back", but "showed tonight that these players are up for the fight this season".

In response to BBC Hereford and Worcester's Carson Wishart, he said: "Yeah, I did. I did. That's life, that's life as a manager. As long as it's aimed at me and not any of the players or anything like that, then that's what I'm here to do.

"I spoke to the chairman throughout and just everyone's just reiterating that people probably don't realise how tough it is at times.

"I've got full belief in myself. I genuinely do. If I'm ever worried that there's anything that that I'm doubting, then I just look at what we've done since we've been at the club.

"We've had two points records. We want to go and try and beat that as best as we possibly can.

"It was important that I remained calm. As a leader of the group, if I started to get a bit itchy and worried and twitchy, so to speak, then that rubs off. I think that calming influence helped."

The win, in which Remaye Campbell scored both goals in the first half, lifted the Bulls off the foot of the table.
