National League AGM - Review

This from the National League:

The great at the good of the National League game gathered to celebrate the season and recognised the 2024/25 achievers at Celtic Manor.

Hundreds were in attendance in South Wales to see the Players and Managers of the Year crowned.

The Glitzy Gala evening followed the league’s AGM and those responsible for what we’ve seen these past ten months were rightly recognised.

The final awards of the season have found their homes, and as always it’s left in the hands of the clubs to decide.

There may not have been promotion for Ollie Pearce and York City, but he doesn't end the campaign empty handed.

In his first season at the club, he not only finished as the National League’s top scorer with 31 goals but he also earns the Player of the Year award after a stellar season.

It was a similar so near story for Ashley Hemmings. Kidderminster Harriers didn’t quite do enough to win promotion, but the attacker claims the National League North Player of the Year accolade.

Tyler Harvey did manage to do both. He fired Truro City to the National League South title and took the award.

The other two champions were applauded onto the stage as Barnet and Brackley Town enjoyed their moment.

Also during the night, the Managers of the Year were announced.

They went the way of those who guided their team to the title - Dean Brennan after Barnet’s 102 point season, Gavin Cowan after ending Brackley’s play-off pain and John Askey, who created history with Truro City.

Then, the Promotion Finals winners took to the stage.

The celebrating doesn’t stop for National League Promotion Final winners Oldham Athletic, for Scunthorpe United or Boreham Wood.

Silverware wasn’t in short supply at Celtic Manor.

Aldershot Town are rightly proud of their achievements and their FA Trophy success was celebrated by all of the guests.

The future of Maidstone United is in safe hands thanks to their National League Academy Cup success - the Stones told the audience how much it meant to them.

Eastleigh also have an academy which is going places and the audience heard all about the young Spitfires’ National League U19 Cup glory.

There were toasts a plenty during a brilliant night - here’s to another fantastic season!
