Hereford Women v Redditch Double Match Report

Two one hour games, six points up for grabs

Match report - Game One

Hereford had a steady start, constantly probing the back line, Yssie Pearson who earlier missed two one on ones with the keeper made it 1-0 on 25minutes when a great run and terrific cross from Sheree Smith gifted her the opportunity, she couldn’t miss from close range.

The second half was a slow affair, both teams failing to test their opponents keepers.

Mollie Powis put the spot kick over the bar and  into the Blackfriars End.

Hereford probably edged the possession  but failed to add to the total.

Game Two

Hereford began as they left off, holding the ball up and keeping the pressure but failing to cause Redditch any real problems at the back.

Both teams worked hard and made several changes but to no avail.

Ht Hereford 0-0 Redditch

The second half saw some tired legs, midway through  Redditch capitalised on a slow to react Hereford midfield, broke through and scored.

Gamesmanship took over as Redditch tried to run the clock down at every chance.

Smith now playing on the left wing left her marker and hit the inside of the back post, Hereford players pealed away celebrating but the oppositions linesmen adjudged the ball hadn’t crossed the line.

With the light rapidly failing Redditch ran the clock down further and with 12 minutes added on to take the 3 points

With so many players with cramp, injury caused from late tackles and fatigue it begs the question if two games in one afternoon was a good idea.
