Bring Back United has released details of a letter to shareholders in support of their campaign to change the name of Hereford FC back to Hereford United.
To all shareholders of Hereford FC Limited,
We are writing to you all as the working group behind the Bring Back United campaign as we wanted to keep you informed.
As you are hopefully aware we are a group of Hereford supporters working together on a campaign to change the club name from Hereford FC back to the historic Hereford United name. We have seen strong levels of support amongst the supporter base for this. An indicative online poll ran earlier this year with 844 participants showed 76.3% support for a return to the Hereford United name.
Over the last few months we have been working on a detailed cost analysis for the name change. This has involved us getting quotes from companies and liaising with an independent football finance expert. This has shown the total cost of a name change is, at most, £9,570. This does not take into account increased commercial opportunities that will be unlocked by returning to the Hereford United name.
We have today launched a website (www.bringbackunited.co.uk) and released our thorough cost analysis. Please find a copy of this cost analysis attached. Any subsequent updates to this will be found on our website. You can also find a list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website.
Later this season we will trigger a vote of HUST members on the name change process. After a successful vote, HUST will then trigger a vote of all shareholders in Hereford FC Limited.
Whilst we still need to hold the HUST vote, we want to keep all shareholders updated and would welcome any comments or questions you may have. You can contact us by email at bringbackunited@gmail.com.
Yours sincerely,
Bring Back United group
