Striker Monty Gibson is leaving Hereford because of a change in his work. He says he is unable to commit to the club because getting to training would be a problem.
Manager Paul Caddis has explained the situation.
"I can confirm that we have regretfully, but respectfully, accepted an offer for Montel Gibson.
"While we are disappointed to lose him, the offer that’s been accepted suits all parties and to continue to be open with supporters, I’d like to elaborate on the events that have taken place in the past 24 hours.
"On Sunday morning I had a call from Monty where he was very open and honest about his work commitments. He explained that he has been given an opportunity in his working life that benefits him and, most importantly, his young family, that he simply cannot turn down.
"Due to the new work commitment Montel is now unable to commit fully to us and will be looking to relocate to a different area which will make things much more difficult for him.
"With that being the case, as a club we decided it was better to try to move quickly to address the situation and when an acceptable offer was received for the player, we decided to accept it so everyone can move on and plan for the future.
"While there is no doubt we will miss a player of Monty’s ability, I want to forget about Montel as a player for a moment and extend my thanks from my staff and players for his time with us. He is a really popular person within our tight group and as a man he will be hugely missed.
"This clearly isn’t news we were expecting or wanted, but I’d like to
wish Monty and his daughter all the very best moving forward and wish
him and his young family the best of health and success in the future."
Given the news it looks like the club will now offer Ahkeem Rose a longer contract.
