Monty Gibson has joined Matlock.
Given he only told Hereford manager Paul Caddis he was leaving Edgar Street yesterday morning it does look as though the the arrangement to join Matlock must have been agreed well beforehand.
This from Matlock:
Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of 26-year-old striker Montel Gibson from Hereford FC for an undisclosed fee
Montel joined Notts County, aged 18, from where he would spend time on loan at Romulus, Hednesford Town, and Sutton Coldfield Town.
He would return to League 2 in 2020 with a move to Grimsby Town under manager, Ian Holloway, that after productive spells at the likes of Ilkeston Town and Halesowen Town.
More recently, Montel has played for AFC Telford United, helping them to reach the play-off final against Leamington, finishing the Bucks' top scorer, and earning a move to Hereford FC this summer.
An all-or-nothing character with the quality to match, Montel's addition can be seen as a real coup and show of ambition.
