One of the trialists for Hereford yesterday was believed to be Travis Johnson who was released by Crawley last May.
A right back Johnson, who is 23, started his career with Crewe.
Manager Paul Caddis was asked if he was looking for cover for Aaron Skinner who is currently sidelined.
"No, not really," said Caddis.
"Travis is an experienced player, he's played 85 games in the EFL.
"He's one we really like but he's not played for a long time. You could see that at times. That's fine, that's what pre-season is for, to get and get that rubbish out of your leg and that sharpness back.
"George (Burrows) is someone we had in last year, he's done really well since he's come in and we've still got Des.
"We'll just have to have a look at what we've got financially and how best to bring someone in, is it just to bring someone in to cover a couple of weeks, I don't know.
"Or is it to go and get someone who we think can improve us even further.
"I think we've been pretty patience, we won't just bring players in to fill numbers.
"We were in a situation last year when we had to do that but I feel where we are now, compared to last season, we are in a better place."
