Speaking after yesterday's friendly against Westfields, Paul Caddis said he was pleased with the win but also pleased to get minutes into his players.
"It was important we won and got off to a good start," said the Hereford manager.
"But the most important thing today was minutes into legs which we did."
Strikers Andy Williams and Adam Rooney scored Hereford's goals.
"That's what they do.
"You put the ball in good areas to them to score, they've done it for the last 15/20 years. Really good finishes.
"Credit to Westfields, I thought it was a good game. They were tough to break down at times. They were well drilled and posed us a decent threat."
Caddis went with three at the back.
"Just personal and looking at different things.
"It's difficult to recruit the players we want in terms of the finances so we are trying to work as best as we can.
"It might have to be a three for the majority of the season, if not and we can get wingers in then we might look at something else."
Caddis spoke about his new signings.
"I think Tate Campbell is going to be a top player for us, I thought Chay was really sharp, Cosmos with his power and running speed.
"Montel has a sore achilles so he missed today.
"So pleased just to get minutes into everyone and the lads who are here from last season just to continue those standards."
