News round up: Former Bull Evans gutted, major changes at Gloucester and more

Jack Evans is gutted after Halifax lost their play-off game against Solihull

Gloucester City have announced major board changes ahead of their return to the Southern League, reports Gloucestershire Live.

Co-owners Alex Petheram and Eamonn McGurk are taking a step back with Colin Taylor taking on the role as chairman, focussing on internal matters with structures, roles and responsibilities, and Jay Marriott becoming vice chair, focussing on external aspects such as media, communications and partnerships.

Two more players are leaving Darlington. Defender Cardo Siddik joined as a free agent in December 2023 under former manager Josh Gowling. Formerly at Crystal Palace, he made seven appearances for the Quakers and the club said they won't be renewing his contract.

Defender Jassem Sukar also won't be offered a new contract after making 63 appearances and scoring one goal.

Former Hereford defender Jack Evans was on the scoresheet as his side Halifax were beaten 4-2 in the National League play-offs by Solihull Moors. Fellow ex-Bull Kane Thompson-Sommers also started.

Yesterday he tweeted: "Still gutted after last night. Boys gave their everything and have done all season, but wasn’t meant to be. Thanks to all the fans that have supported us up and down the country this year, support has been top class💙"

Boston United have almost sold all of their allocated tickets for Saturday's National League North play-off semi-final at Scunthorpe United. As of 9.35pm on Thursday, the club had sold 1,501 tickets as just 21 were left. More than 7,000 have been sold in total.
