Conrad Logan Has Played Against Hereford In The Past

Anstey Nomads goalkeeper Conrad Logan is no stranger to Edgar Street as he's kept goal for several clubs before his current one.

The BN archives suggest his first match was for Leicester in the Carling Cup back in September 2006.

And some thought he should have been red carded after he brought down Stuart Fleetwood.

'With eleven minutes of the half gone though, Hereford were back on level turns when 'keeper Logan took down Fleetwood, who threatened to round him and The Bulls were given a penalty. Logan though was only yellow carded, though nobody worried too much about that, at the time, as Purdie converted the spot kick. Logan didn't dwell on his mistake though, and was in action again moments later, denying Fleetwood who tried to curl in from twenty yards.

Sills was next to be kept off the score sheet by the 'keeper as his looping header from Travis' cross was punched away, with Logan at full stretch. The ball fell to Fleetwood who forced Logan into another terrific save from an angle, and Logan was helped out by his defence as a third effort from Richard Rose arrived.

Things went from bad to worse for United, as Fleetwood pulled up injured, allowing Alan Connell to be introduced. It was what happened in the seventy sixth minute that angered United fans though, as McClenahan was penalised, having felled Levi Porter in the box, but the only difference from this challenge and Logan's earlier one, was that McClenahan saw red, much to the annoyance of the home fans in the crowd of 4,073. Hume stepped up and gave City a two goal advantage.

United didn't back down though and were threatening again soon after as Dean Beckwith headed over Purdie's corner, before Sills saw a low effort blocked by Logan.'

Logan was back at Edgar Street in November 2007. This time he was in goal for Stockport in a game Hereford won

'Stockport regretted the miss, as Ainsworth opened the scoring soon after. Ben Smith knocked the ball into his path, as he cut in from the right hand side. He then beat three players, and found space on the edge of the area before looping a shot over Logan and into the top corner.

The second half was much more exciting than the first half, and United started brightly. Trevor Benjamin's clever through ball found Clint Easton, who had cut in from the left wing, but his low shot was saved by Logan's legs.'

The following season Logan went to Luton. Then in 2009 Luton wanted to buy him but he couldn't agree terms. A spell on loan at Bristol Rovers followed and then it was Rotherham where in a game against Swindon he broke his nose and lost several teeth in a collision.

Conrad Logan Fails To Stop Deroy Facey Scoring For Hereford

He played for Rotherham at Hereford in December 2011.

'Then, on 34 minutes, Arquin made a strong run and attempted a 20 yard effort that took a wicked deflection off a defenders’s leg, looping wildly over Logan and into the net.

Eight minutes later, Facey used all his power to force his way through, and with the outside of his boot, flicked it past the advancing stopper for a deserved equaliser.

Leslie’s effort rebounded to Simon Clist who fired well over, and Arquin, spotting Logan off his line, tried a clever chip which had the keeper back-pedalling to make the save. Only a couple of minutes remained when Nathan Elder was brought into action, too late it seemed to have much impact.

The one remaining matter of controversy involved Purdie, who cheekily stole the ball from Logan, flicked it over his head and rolled it into the empty net. Our Rob claimed that the ball had been released in the action of punting it downfield, whereas Mr Sarginson begged to differ, believing it had been kicked out of the goalie’s hands. The verdict was “no goal, and a caution for Purds.'

Logan left Rotherham in January 2012.

And nothing about him on BN until January 2021 when he joined Stamford AFC just in time for a FA Trophy tie against Hereford.

'Then just before half time Conrad Logan had to tip Chris Camwell's shot over the bar. Six minutes into the second half, Harry Vince fouled Pollock. The Bulls midfielder was not happy with the challenge and barged into Vince, which led to him being sent off.

Bartle shot just over for Stamford in the 67th minute before Logan made a double save to deny James McQuilkin and Owen-Evans.'

And that was it until last Saturday when Logan was in goal for Anstey Nomads.
