George Webb is back on the Hereford FC board.
His reappointment was confirmed by the club earlier this afternoon.
His role will be commercial director, similar to the position he held from 2015 to 2019.
Chairman Chris Ammonds said he was very pleased Webb is back on board.
"I worked closely with him during Hereford FC’s first season following the sad demise of Hereford United. He is a passionate supporter with a wealth of business, commercial and sales experience and, most importantly, he is a real ‘doer’.
"Income from the commercial side of our business is vitally important to ensure we are sustainable and also to increase the possibility of providing additional investment into the football side of the club. I firmly believe George is the right person to specifically focus on driving our commercial operation forward, given the key role he played in maximising the revenue the club generated in its formative years.
"From working with him when I was employed at the club, I know all about George’s work ethic, organisational skills and the drive he will bring to the role. Right now, I believe that he is exactly what our club needs as we often had healthy, open debates about ongoing work and future ideas, which I always felt was of huge benefit.
"If we are to be successful in the future, it isn’t always going to be about making popular decisions at Board level, it is about doing all we can to try to make the right ones. Therefore, to my mind, challenging each other is very healthy as that means that all decisions are taken having considered every possible angle.
"We are very fortunate to have committed, hardworking and passionate staff working at our football club and as a Board we need to offer them the support required to allow them to do their jobs to the very best of their abilities. This appointment is part of the work to ensure we are doing just that.
"I am generally pleased with the club’s direction of travel currently
and am really looking forward to the season that lies ahead. Appointing
George to this role, where his specific focus will be on ensuring our
commercial operation functions to the best level it can, is another
positive step and fills a vital gap that has been vacant since James
Smith left the club earlier this year."
