Former York and Macclesfield manager John Askey has been named as the new boss of Hartlepool United.
The 58-year-old, who was dismissed by York earlier this season after he led them to promotion to the National League, replaces Keith Curle, who was sacked on Wednesday having won just eight of 29 games in charge. Hartlepool are in 22nd place in League Two.
Many Hereford fans had tipped Askey to potentially take over as the new Bulls boss.
