Game Plan Executed Said Owen-Evans

Speaking after Hereford's 4-1 victory at Blyth this afternoon, Tom Owen-Evans, who scored two of the goals, felt that his side's game plan had been executed. The win takes the Bulls closer to the playoff places.

"I think we played really well," said Owen-Evans.

"It's nice to score four goals away from home.

"A long trip so we wanted to start brightly and knock them out as soon as we could and I think we did that.

"The gaffer said he wanted us to start quick so we came out of the blocks quickly and so we did that by scoring three goals in the first half.

"Game plan executed."

Owen-Evans spoke about his second goal.

"I'm not sure if it was the outside or the bottom of my foot. It sort of bounced in front of me so I tried to get a little bit of contact on it and divert it towards goal and thankfully it span away from the keeper off the post and in.

"I saw Seb with the ball, he's getting into really good positions today. I was in the box and I just gambled in the middle of the box and thankfully it's dropped to me and I managed to score.

"They came out (second half) of the blocks first five/ten but we wanted to start the half brightly again but these things happen. Teams are always going to have spells in the game and they were probably going to come out obviously after scoring their goal on half time and give it a good go.

"Pinchard scored a great goal when we were maybe under the cosh a little bit but that sort of killed the game off and then we didn't mean to sit off, they weren't the tactics, it's just when you are 4-1 up away from home you do sit off a bit and protect what you've got.

"The gaffer said after the game that everyone is saying that we've drawn four on the bounce and playoff chances are gone, you read it online, but you look back after winning here today and you say it's a decent point at Kettering, a decent point at Leamington on tough pitches and we've drawn with York who are up there.

"So after winning today you look at it and although you'd like to win the games you are drawing but if you're not losing you are picking up points and teams are dropping points around us. We're two points off the playoffs now.

"So we're amongst it and we fancy we can beat anyone so we've got games left and we can pick up points and we believe we can get in there."
