Birmingham Sports Argus reporter Tom Duckworth: “Hereford have a fantastic set of supporters who both in numbers and in terms of vocal support can be depended on to dwarf the efforts of supporters of most Third and Fourth Division clubs.”
In their forthcoming issue, print-pioneers Talking Bull fanzine are featuring the day Hereford United were elected to the Football League. That huge event is approaching its 50th anniversary. The quote above was included in one of several features run by the Argus that weekend. Duckworth and a photographer toured the city on Friday night to capture that “We’re in” feeling.
Were you there? Do you remember how you heard the news? Where you celebrated, how and with whom? The feature is already a decent read yet would be so much more appealing if more of our mature following can share their memories.
