Miles Storey scored Hereford's goal in their 1-0 win over high flying Chorley yesterday afternoon.
Hopefully the win, the first at Edgar Street this season in the League, will be the first of many.
"It feels like it's the monkey off the back at home," said Storey.
"We've been alright away from home, picked up a few points.
"But at a place like this, given the amount of fans we got we need to win all our home games really.
"It's good to get it over the line."
Storey started the season as a winger but manager Josh Gowling has moved him to lead the line in recent games.
"To be honest I haven't played up front for four or five years.
"Because I'm quick and powerful I do get put wide and I think it's a position out wide that if there is a player the Gaffer thinks I can get at maybe it's an option.
"But I do feel when I play up front I can cause problems, stretch them a little bit and create opportunities for other players."
